SAP OMS
SAP OMS is a modular suite of services that work together to manage everything that happens after an order is created. It provides composable order orchestration and helps large, complex organizations orchestrate fulfillment, enforce pricing, and track every part of an order’s lifecycle across multiple systems, channels, and locations. It is designed for customers with multiple ERPs and/or complex multi-channel sales environments with multiple disparate sales tools.
SAP OMS includes four key components:
- SAP OMF (Order Management Foundation)
What it does:
Routes the order to the right place.
Once an order is placed, OMF decides where it should go, which warehouse, store, or system should fulfill it. It connects SAP and non-SAP ERP systems so everything is integrated behind the scenes.
- SAP OMSA (Order Management Sourcing and Availability)
What it does:
Finds where your inventory is and figures out the best place to ship from.
If a customer orders 10 items, OMSA checks all your locations and says, “You have 6 in Warehouse A and 4 in Store B, let’s ship from both.” It helps make smarter sourcing decisions in real time.
- SAP OPPS (Omni-channel Pricing and Promotions Service)
What it does:
Applies consistent pricing and promotions, no matter where the order is placed.
If a customer sees a 10% discount online, OPPS makes sure that same price shows up in-store and through your call center, too.
- SAP OSTA (Omni-Channel Sales Transaction Audit)
What it does:
Cleans, checks, and validates sales data from point-of-sale systems.
If a store’s POS system sends messy or incomplete sales data, like a missing item price or barcode that doesn’t scan properly, OSTA will step in to check the data to make sure everything is accurate before it is saved, which prevents any bad transactions from being sent to your SAP system.
How OMS+ and SAP OMS Work Together
OMS+ leverages all the various SAP OMS components to work together in collaboration to meet customer needs, presenting a unified interface regardless of channel or function. It calls up SAP OMS services behind the scenes bringing them into the order management solution.
