Applications of Intelligent Automation

Intelligent automation (IA) does not discriminate when it comes to being industry applicable. Though the benefits of IA are unquestioned, where can IA be applied? Knowledge and understanding of IA continues to progress, prompting companies to adopt the software to streamline various processes. IA can benefit industries in a variety of ways depending on their specific needs and strategies. Below I will provide insight into how several industries are integrating IA to optimize efficiency and productivity, giving them the advantage in their relative markets.

Automotive

The automotive industry has made a significant shift in strategy due to the sustainability race, driven by changing customer behavior. IA use in the automotive industry can aid companies in accurately adjusting and predicting supply and demand. Automotive manufactures are utilizing IA to streamline processes, optimize efficiency, reduce strain on employees, and reduce error. With drastic changes occurring globally such as the push for renewable energy automotive options, companies are forced to look at their current systems and processes in a whole new light. Through IA implementation, automotive manufacturers gain insight into their supply chain management, and efficiently use data to its full potential

Healthcare

As we are all aware, the healthcare industry has experienced a hectic couple of years. The COVID-19 pandemic compelled the healthcare industry to reform and refine their process and systems to adapt to the rapidly changing pandemic needs. With growing pressure on the industry, healthcare companies looked to IA to provide consistency in an oh so inconsistent and chaotic epidemic. IA aids the industry in harmoniously connecting and storing data related to patient information, diagnosis, treatment and more. As healthcare systems adopted Telehealth and virtual ways to accommodate patients, IA provided the foundation for the success of these new processes helping healthcare professionals to provide an efficient and safe experience for patients.

Government

An often-overlooked area that has quickly applied IA software to a variety of processes is Government. IA can be found throughout departments and agencies such as the Social Security Administration, Defense Logistics Agency, Treasury Department, and even the Food and Drug Administration. These various agencies and departments are optimizing their current process using IA, helping to automate payments, accurately log data, and save vital employee time. Government divisions are using IA to sophistically interpret data and efficiently organize unstructured data that would normally take an unprecedented time to decipher.

Wholesale Distribution and Retail

IA provides significant advantages for the wholesale distribution and retail industries. Fueled by labor shortages, increased wages, inflation, and supply chain issues, the wholesale distribution industry has actively sought new systems. Despite the industry’s reputation for slow adaptation to technological advancement, many wholesale distribution companies are looking to IA to help cut costs and streamline their demanding and complex processes. As an industry facing growing competition and shrinking margins, IA allows wholesale distribution to optimize competitive advantage and maximize resources. The same can be applied for the retail industry which can benefit from IA features such as automated order processing and creation, giving sales employees the time to interact with customers for a better-quality experience.
